We have decided to dissolve Carney, Sugai & Sudweeks, LLP, effective February 1, 2014, in order to allow Janis Carney to pursue her passion of the EASE Plan, Inc. Janis, as Carney Elder Law, will continue to provide Estate Planning, Long Term Care Planning, and Post Death Administration legal services. Leslie and Sheri have formed a partnership, Sugai & Sudweeks, will continue to provide Estate Planning, Post Death Administration, Trust Reformation, Conservatorship, Guardianship and Special Needs Planning and Administration legal services. All three of us will continue to work at the same office location with the same contact information.
Over the past four years, Carney, Sugai & Sudweeks, LLP, has been pleased to offer elder care services to those clients who needed care coordination services. We provided those services through a licensed healthcare/social worker professional on our staff. She worked with clients who wanted to stay in their own home so that they could safely age in place. As these services developed, Janis realized that it was important for every person to have a good advocate with them if they needed care in the emergency room. A program called EASE (Emergency Advocacy Support & Education) was developed to provide those services. Janis has now created a separate company, owned and operated solely by her to provide the EASE and elder care services, for more information go to www.easeplan.com.
This is an amicable dissolution of Carney, Sugai & Sudweeks. We look forward to maintaining our relationship with you. As of February 1, 2014, we will provide our email list to both of the new firms. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.
